Syfy has commissioned 12 Monkeys to be produced
The Syfy Cable Network has commissioned the production of 12 Monkeys, a thirteen-episode series that will premiere in January 2015. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Aaron Stanford (Nikita) and Amanda Schull (Force Majeure) will star in the drama based on Terry Gilliam's 1995 feature-length movie of the same name. ... Natalie Chadez (`` In Simple '') will act as showrunner for the series, which focuses on Cole's (Stanford) journey from the post-apocalyptic world to our day, in order to locate and destroy the source of the deadly plague that will ultimately lead the human race to ruin. Charles Rowen will be the executive producer, Richard Suckle and Jake Keriley. Written by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett (Nikita). Jeffrey Rayner (Friday Night Lights) has been nominated to direct the pilot. The cast also brushes Kirk Acevedo (Fringe), Noah Bean (Nikita) and the guest star – Zeljko Ivanek (The Mentalist).
