Idris Elba will play one of the main roles in the action movie Bastille Day, which will be a joint project between Vendome Pictures and Anonymous Content`s. This is reported by the Variety edition.

In the center of the plot will be a young artist and retired CIA operative living in Paris, who, by the will of fate, turn out to be the only hope of the French capital for salvation from large-scale terrorist attacks.

Timing work on the project and its rental schedule have not yet been specified. Recall that at the time of this writing, Elba's last work was the role of Nelson Mandela in the biographical movie The Long Road to Freedom.
