The 1938 Action Comics rarity issue Superman debuted in was accidentally discovered during renovations in a small town in Minnesota. This is reported by Fox Television Stations. A worker named David Gonzalez dismantled one of the walls and discovered a unique publication between several layers of newspapers that served to insulate the house. Suspecting that he was discovered something of value, Gonzalez took the comic home, where he had a heated discussion on this topic with his uncle. In the heat of the argument, the elderly gentleman grabbed the edition so briskly that the cover was torn. As a result, the auction house ComicConnect, to which Gonzalez contacted the experts, lowered the preservation rate from 9 to 1.5 points. Note, that in 2012 exactly the same comic book, but with a preservation index of 9, was sold at auction for more than two million dollars. But even a damaged copy aroused great interest among collectors. At the time of this writing, its value at the auction has already exceeded 120 thousand dollars.
