Guillermo Del Toro abandoned Beauty and the Beast
An unexpected decision was made by director Guillermo Del Toro. According to Deadline, the director has left the Warner Bros. curated movie Beauty and the Beast, in which Emma Watson is supposed to play the main role. The official reason is a conflict between movieing schedules, but attention is drawn to the fact that the director's resignation occurred almost immediately after the Walt Disney studio announced progress in its own adaptation of the famous fairy tale. Del Toro intends to retain some of the production functions. The shooting of which particular project became a hindrance was not specified.
