The American Social Security Administration has released a database of names given by the parents of their children born in 2013. According to this information, the popularity of the name Khaleesi has increased compared to 2012.

241 newborns were named after the heroine of the TV series Game of Thrones, based on the series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire. Thus, the name Khaleesi, which in Dothraki means `` queen, '' became more popular than traditional names such as Betsy and Stacy. The real name of the heroine – Daenerys – seemed to the young parents less attractive, and as a result, only 21 girls were named.

Arya – another heroine from the series, which inspired parents to give their daughters the name of Ned Stark's brave youngest daughter. In 2013, 1,135 girls were born named Arya, who left behind those who bear the names Amanda, Phoebe and Helen.
