Golden Globe TV ratings decreased

The TV coverage of the 2015 Golden Globe Awards has dropped significantly compared to last year. This is reported by Variety, citing a study by Nielsen.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association ceremony, hosted by actresses Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, drew 19.3 million American viewers from TV screens and earned a 5.8 key audience rating. A year earlier, the show had a total of seven percent more viewers and 11 percent more key audiences. The rating of the ceremony was even lower than in 2013.

The reason for the fall, most likely, is that the winners are movie projects that are not very interesting to a wide range of TV viewers. Recall that in the nomination "Best Dramatic Film" the award went to the movie "Adolescence", the shooting of which lasted more than ten years. Director Richard Linklater has received the Best Director award. In the category "Best Film - Musical or Comedy" the winner was the tape "The Grand Budapest Hotel". The best movie in a foreign language was recognized "Leviathan" by USA director Andrey Zvyagintsev.

The 2014 Golden Globes of the Year had the highest ranking in a decade.
