ITV and PBS have commissioned the production of Churchill's Secret, a television movie based on a recently published novel by Jonathan Smith and adapted by Stuart Harcourt (Poirot). The movie tells about the post-war activities of Winston Churchill as Prime Minister of Great Britain. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Michael Gambon, known for his role as Albus Dumbledore in the Potterian, will play Winston Churchill, and Lindsay Duncan ("Margaret Thatcher") will play his wife, Clementine. Charles Sturridge (Da Vinci Demons) will direct the 2-hour movie and executive producer Tim Bricknell (The Two Faces of January). Gambon recently retired from theater due to what he called "frightening" memory loss.

The premiere of the movie will take place in 2016, first on the British PBS channel, and then on the American ITV. Filming will begin in June in London and at the Churchill family estate in Kent.

The movie takes place in the summer of 1953. Churchill is already in his 80s, and he is experiencing a blow that is hiding from the whole world. The story, shown through the eyes of a young nurse, Millie Appleyard, tells of Churchill's battle to recover, while his wife Clementine desperately hopes that health conditions will force her husband to resign, and friends and foes speculate about who will take his place as prime minister. -minister.
