It took a month to prepare for the stunt with tourists who were at the 2017 Oscar ceremony and were able to talk with Hollywood stars of the first magnitude, but no one was checking the guests, they all turned out to be involuntary participants in the show by accident. This is evidenced by the results of an investigation by The Hollywood Reporter.

Ceremony host Jimmy Kimmel allegedly drew attention to the success of a similar stunt at the 2004 Emmys Awards. The transport company StarLine Tours was chosen as the "source" of unsuspecting tourists, offering excursions to memorable places in Hollywood, including Hollywood Boulevard, where the TCL Chinese Theater center is located.

Only a few people were aware of the preparation of the stunt, including the head of StarLine Tours, and the bus driver who had to drive the car at a certain speed. The group of tourists was randomly formed, accompanied by two security personnel on the way.

After stopping at the TCL Chinese Theater, the tour participants went through a standard check for weapons and illegal substances and a few minutes later found themselves in the hall in front of the ceremony participants.

Recall that among the tourists was "Gary from Chicago", who spent 22 years behind bars, including for robbery and attempted rape, and was released from prison just three days before the Oscar 2017.
