Billy Bob Thornton Returns to TV
Golden Globe winner for his role in the miniseries Fargo, Billy Bob Thornton returns to television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was cast in the lead role in David E. Kelly's legal drama "The Trial." he was ousted. Now Billy spends his days getting drunk and doing random things his ex-wife throws at him. However, Billy's professionalism is given another chance when a young lawyer just fired from his old firm brings him a wrongful death case. Taking up the case, Billy will face off against the head of his former firm. Drama, written by Kelly and co-written with his creative partner Jonathan Shapiro, will be the first Amazon series to be commissioned to produce a full season bypassing the pilot stage. The streaming service traditionally offers pilots to its subscribers and orders full seasons of only those TV projects, the pilots of which received the majority of votes from viewers.
