HBO begins production of Lewis and Clark miniseries
HBO begins preparations for movieing the mini-series "Lewis and Clark" about the famous expedition of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark in the early nineteenth century. The six-hour miniseries about the discovery of the American West will begin movieing in summer 2015. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, citing HBO, Casey Affleck ("How Cowardly Robert Ford Killed Jesse James") went to the role of Lewis, and Matthias Shonarts ("Rust and Bone") was approved for the role of Clark. "In Lewis & Clark we will see American idealism and the continent's breathtaking natural beauty, as well as the complexities and tragic consequences of America's so-called 'clear destiny,'" HBO President Michael Lombardo said in a statement. Ambrose's "Undaunted Courage", a television project, remained inactive at HBO for a while. Affleck joined the project last summer, and Shaunarts just got the role now. The drama will be produced by Playtone, Plan B and Class 5. Executive producers include – Tom Hanks, Gary Coetzman, Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Tim Kelly and Adam Leipzig.
