Amazon has commissioned the production of the horror anthology "Lore", based on the popular podcast of the same name. Described as a "non-scripted" series, the show "will feature stories dealing with the frightening, psychologically disturbing and often supernatural real-life events that have spawned modern nightmares." This is reported by ComingSoon.

Propagate Content and Valhalla Entertainment will co-produce the series, while Gail Ann Hurd, Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Brett-Patrick Jenkins and the podcast creator will act as executive producers. Aaron Manke. Glen Morgan ("The X-Files") has been appointed showrunner for the project.

Launched in March 2015 by Aaron Manke "Lore" boasts a monthly audience of over 3.2 million people. "Lore" was named iTunes's "Best Podcast of 2015" and one of "Fifteen Podcasts To Stream in 2016" by Entertainment Weekly. The podcast combines storytelling, historical facts from the media, and dramatic scenes to bring terrifying and true stories to life. Adhering to the principles of the horror genre, "Lore" explores the true stories of the most legendary characters in pop culture and myths, such as vampires, zombies, werewolves, phantoms, serial killers and witches.

The ten-episode season will be released on Amazon Prime Video in 2017.
