CBS is developing TV version of SWAT: City of Angels Special Forces

The day after the TV sequel to "Training Day" debuted on February 2, 2017, CBS announced its intention to movie a new version of yet another police drama - " "SWAT: Special Forces of the City of Angels". This is reported by the publication Entertaiment Weekly.

CBS commissioned the production of a SWAT pilot inspired by the 2003 feature movie starring Colin Farrell, Samuel L. Jackson and Michelle Rodriguez. The movie, in turn, is based on the 1975 series SWAT by producers Leonard Goldberg and Aaron Spelling.

In a potential CBS series, a Los Angeles-born SWAT lieutenant is torn between love of home and duty in relation to fellow officers, becoming the head of a highly trained unit dedicated to protecting the city from crime.

Director of four movies in the Fast and the Furious franchise and the recently released Star Trek 3: Infinity, Justin Lin will take over the duties of the executive producer and director of the pilot, the script for which by Aaron Rahsaan Thomas ("Sleepy Hollow"). Other executive producers include – Shawn Ryan, creator of The Shield, and Neil H. Moritz, producer of the original $ 207,000 feature movie.
