Star Wars: Rogue, the first spin-off of a new trilogy, will be movieed with the new Arri Alexa 65 widescreen 6K cameras. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Previously, such camera systems were used for the production of some episodes of the action movie Mission: Impossible 5: Outcast Tribe. In particular, these cameras were used when movieing underwater scenes. Also, Chinese director Zhang Yimou intends to use their capabilities, intending to shoot a drama with fantasy elements "The Great Wall".

Recall that the movie "Star Wars: Rogue" will take place after the events of "Revenge of the Sith", and the plot will focus on a group of rebels who seek to steal the plans of the first Death Star. "The complete absence of the Jedi will be a key element of the project," said project director Gareth Edwards in an interview.

It was previously announced that Sam Claflin, Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelssohn, Diego Luna and other actors will play the main roles in the spin-off. Support cast will be announced at a later date.

Star Wars: The Rogue is slated to begin movieing in the summer of 2015 with an eye on the world premiere in December 2016.
