The American Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films has submitted a list of contenders for its 2017 Saturn Awards. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has become the absolute leader in terms of the number of references, it will be nominated for 11 awards.

In second place was the movie adaptation of the Marvel comics "Doctor Strange", which has a chance to win 10 Saturn Awards 2017. Another movie based on the comics, "Captain America: Civil War", will compete for eight awards.

With regard to television series, the leader in this section is "The Walking Dead", claiming seven awards. The second place was taken by the fantastic series "Westworld" with six nominations, and the third - the next season of the television project "American Horror Story", which may receive five Saturn Awards 2017.
