Netflix commissions production of Montauk mystery drama (Topic)

Streaming service Netflix has commissioned a mystical drama set to be set on Long Island. According to The Hollywood Reporter, citing the video service, the series is positioned as a "love letter to the classics of the 80s."

Brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, specializing in short movies ("The Ship", "The Road to Moloch ") and whose 2014 horror thriller" Hidden "made their feature movie debut, will write and direct the eight-episode series Montauk. The premiere is scheduled for next year. The Duffer Brothers have already co-scripted several horror shorts, including 2005's "We All Fall Down". The Duffers will also serve as Executive Producers, who will share with Sean Levy and Dan Cohen.

The plot of the upcoming series revolves around the disappearance of a boy in Montauk, Long Island in 1980, and is promised to contain elements of the supernatural.
