Movie Star Trek 3: Infinity will be shown on panoramic screens

The movie "Star Trek 3: Infinity" will be released on screens in North America, including in a new, experimental format. According to Slash Film, the project will be showcased using Barco's new panoramic Escape projection systems.

This format assumes the presence of not one, but three screens: two additional ones are located on the sides of the main one, which allows demonstrating additional fragments of the image. Naturally, any movie project must be adapted for such cinemas. In the case of "Start Trek" we will talk about 20 minutes of screen time. Most likely, the most spectacular scenes of the picture with a lot of special effects will be presented with the help of Escape systems.

American viewers will be able to try out the new format in the following locations:

  • Cinemark Lincoln Square Cinemas – Bellevue, WA
  • Village Cinema – Meridian, ID
  • Roxy Stadium 14 – Santa Rosa, CA
  • Palladio 16 Cinemas – Folsom, CA
  • Century at Pacific Commons and XD – Fremont, CA
  • Camera 12 Cinema – San Jose, CA
  • Sierra Vista Cinema 16 – Clovis, CA
  • Cinemark XD – Los Angeles, CA
  • Cinemagic Hollywood 12 Theaters – Rochester, MN
  • Cinemark Legacy & XD – Plano, TX
  • Santikos Silverado 16 – San Antonio, TX
  • Santikos Silverado IMAX – Tomball, TX
  • Santikos Palladium AVX Entertainment – Richmond, TX

Recall that the first movie that had a version for panoramic cinemas was the fantastic thriller "The Maze Runner".
