Popular Hollywood actor Tom Sizemore ("Southland") has a recurring role in the upcoming USA Network series "Shooter". The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Based on Stephen Hunter's bestselling book and 2007 feature movie starring Mark Wahlberg, the series features retired sniper Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe) as the main suspected of attempted assassination of the US President. Accused of what he did not do, Swagger, using all his skills, must find out who set him up, not let himself be caught and find the true killer.

Sizemore will play Hugh Michum, a senior CIA agent who is ready to do whatever is necessary to ensure that his country occupies a leading position in the world economy. Prior to Sizemore, Omar Epps ("House Doctor"), Chantelle Van Santen ("The Flash") and Cynthia Addai-Robinson ("Spartacus: Blood and Sand") were cast.

John Lavigne (" Shield ") wrote the script for the pilot and will share executive producer duties with Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Lorenzo Di Bonaventura. Simon Sellan Jones ("Bloodline") has directed the pilot episode.

The premiere date for the ten-episode co-production project between Paramount Television and Universal Television has yet to be confirmed.

Sizemore, best known for his work in movies. " Saving Private Ryan, "The Fall of the Black Hawk Down" and "Skirmish", will appear in the action movie "USS Indianapolis: Courageous Men"
