Hannibal Star to play cult leader
Hannibal star Hugh Dancy has joined the cast of Hulu's streaming service drama series The Way. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The plot of the series, which was co-written by Jason Katims ("My Boy"), Michelle Lee and Jessica Goldberg ("Parents"), revolves around a married couple who find themselves at the center of a controversial religious movement. Each of the ten episodes will offer an in-depth look at the difference between the life we live and the life we would like to live. The drama, which will premiere in early 2016, will begin production in September. Dancy will play the charismatic leader of The Way cult Cal Roberts. He has a complicated relationship with two members of the movement, Sarah (Michelle Monaghan), and her controversial husband, Eddie (Aaron Paul). Cal will face his own demons and bold ambitions to pursue plans for the future of the organization. Katyms, Lee and Goldberg will act as executive producers.
