ABC Announces Madoff Miniseries Premiere Date (Topic)

Channel ABC announced the premiere date of the four-hour mini-series "Madoff" about the disgraced financier Bernie Madoff. The series, starring Richard Dreyfuss and Blyth Danner, will air two nights in a row - – Wednesday and Thursday, 3rd and 4th February 2016. This is reported by the publication Deadline.

Recall that the HBO channel is also preparing a television biopic – TV movie "Master of Lies" starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer, which will debut in 2016. Development on the movie began four and a half years ago, but ABC was the first to green-light its miniseries in February this year, while HBO only commissioned The Master of Lies in August. Both projects have already presented footage with leading roles – Dreyfus and Danner and De Niro and Pfeiffer - as Bernie Madoff and his wife Ruth.

HBO has not yet announced a premiere date for its TV movie and will probably not debut soon due to the voluminous work in the post-production stage and marketing campaign to promote. The channel loves to release its original movies in May, as it did with Ordinary Heart in 2014 and Behind the Candelabra in 2013.
