Kevin Feige solidifies his influence at Walt Disney
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has significantly consolidated his influence at parent company Walt Disney through an internal chain of command reform. According to The Hollywood Reporter, from now on Feige will report directly to the head of Walt Disney Studios, Alan Horn. Previously, his immediate superior was Marvel Entertainment's "gray eminence" Isaac "Ike" Perlmuter. The latter, who, unlike Feige, prefers to stay in the background, was known in the company for his extreme, sometimes even beyond common sense, stinginess. So once he was outraged that at a press conference dedicated to the release of the movie "Iron Man" journalists were given two portions of soda instead of one. It is he who is credited with developing a general strategy for Marvel, assuming total economy on everything. Company sources claim that Feige was unhappy with the current state of affairs and believed that such a distribution of powers impeded the development of the company. He brought his views to the attention of the management of Walt Disney and, as a result, the reorganization was approved. The reform will not affect another division of the company - Marvel Television: its head will continue to report to Isaac Perlmuter.
