Shameless Star to star in American Crime
The second season of ABC's anthology, American Crime, continues to expand its cast. Emily Bergl ("Shameless") has a recurring role in John Ridley's drama, The Hollywood Reporter reports. Season 2 will focus on a high school student accusing several members of the successful private school basketball team of whom he learns in sexual harassment. Bergle will play the mother of one of the basketball players (Joey Pollari, "Detective Rush"), whose family is embroiled in the proceedings. On the set American Crime scene, Bergle will meet with fellow Desperate Housewives Felicity Huffman and Regina King, with which she starred in Southland. Both Huffman and King are nominated for an Emmy 2015 for their roles in the first season of the anthology. In total, the series is nominated for awards in more than ten categories. In addition to Huffman and King, Timothy Hutton, Elvis Nolasco, Richard Kebral and Lily Taylor will return with new roles for the second season. Hope Davis, Andre Benjamin and Stephanie Sigman were approved prior to Bergle. Bergle also starred in the series Gilmore Girls, Kidnapped, Knickerbocker Hospital. Season 2 premiere.
