Joshua Trunk blames the studio for the Fantastic Four defeat

Fantastic Four director Joshua Trunk has blamed FOX's dire critics' reviews. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the statement appeared on the director's own Twitter page.

"About a year ago, I had a fantastic version of the movie. And it would definitely get good reviews. You probably never see it. It's sad," he wrote. A little later, the entry was deleted, but many of Trunk's subscribers managed to copy it.

Recall that the shooting of the movie was accompanied by a number of scandals. Sources, in particular, argued that at some stage, Trunk was almost completely removed from making key decisions, and the producers of the picture had to take power on the set, who were forced to re-shoot some of the key scenes.

Due to constant delays, the studio did not manage to prepare a stereoscopic version of the movie for distribution, although it was announced on early posters. Trunk was later suspended from work on one of the Star Wars episodes.

At the time of this writing, the rating of the picture on the aggregator of professional reviews RottenTomatoes is only nine percent.

The Fantastic Four will premiere in USA on August 20, 2015.
