The head of the Walt Disney company Bob Iger has specified the release schedule for the numbered episodes of the new Star Wars trilogy. According to him, quoted by Star Wars Underworld, the eighth and ninth episodes will be presented to viewers in 2017 and 2019, respectively.
"As one of the few lucky enough to be on set and one of the few to have seen most of the footage, I can assure the millions of Star Wars fans who have spent the last ten years hoping to see a new movie in this series. that their expectation was not in vain, and this is just the beginning of a new era in the development of the Star Wars universe, - said Iger.
His comment contained one curious detail. According to the head of Walt Disney, in 2019 viewers will see the end of "this trilogy", which could mean there are plans to shoot the next one. Naturally, this is only a guess at the moment.
Recall that the story of the new trilogy will begin in December 2015 with the premiere of the movie "Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens", directed by JJ Abrams.
