Wes Craven passes away
In the United States, at the age of 77, one of the most famous directors working in the horror genre, Wes Craven, has died. The cause of death was brain cancer, with which the director struggled for the last few months of his life. Wes Craven was born in Cleveland in 1939. In college he studied English literature and psychology, and then worked as a teacher. At the end of the 60s of the last century he moved to New York, where he got a job as a sound engineer. Craven shot his first movie in 1971, and his ascent to Olympus of the genre began in 1972 with the release of the then cult movie The Last House on the Left.
