Stephen Root will play The Man in the High Castle
Amazon Studios has announced that Stephen Root ("Until the End") has received the title role in the television adaptation of Philip K. Dick's The Man in the High Castle. Ruth will play the role of a mysterious man associated with the Resistance and collecting movies showing an alternative version of reality, which the Japanese and Nazis are hunting for. This is reported by the publication Deadline. The second season of the series, which starts on December 16 this year, begins with political tensions growing between Germany and Japan. Juliana Crane (Alexa Davalos) faces the aftermath of her decision to betray the Resistance and allow Joe Blake (Luke Kleintenk), a suspected German spy, to flee to the Pacific States with a movie destined for The Man in the High Castle. Joe returns as a hero to the Reich and comes face to face with his father in Berlin, who abandoned him. Meanwhile, Frank Frink (Rupert Evans) is becoming increasingly interested in the work of the Resistance after seeing footage of his own death in the movie. The show is starred by Rufus Sewell, DJ Qualls, Carey-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Joel de la Fuente, Brennan Brown, Bella Heathcote and Callum Keith Rennie.
