Amazon streaming has renewed The Man in the High Castle for a second season. The streaming service has commissioned the production of the second season of the dystopian drama, which will be ten episodes, one month after the series debuted. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

"The Man in the High Castle" is a version of an alternate history in which the United States lost in World War II. The action takes place in the 60s of the last century on the west coast, which was occupied by imperial Japan, and on the east coast, under the jurisdiction of Nazi Germany. The series, scripted by Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files), stars Rupert Evans, Rufus Sewell, Alexa Davalos, Luke Kleintenk, Donald Joseph Qualls, Carey-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Joel de la Fuente.

Spotnitz, Ridley Scott and Dick's daughter Isa Dick Hackett share the functions of executive producers.

The first season of the drama based on the novel of the same name Philip K. Dick, launched on November 20, 2015. The Man in the High Castle pilot became the most popular in Amazon history. The streaming service was heavily criticized by the public when it draped the seats on the 42nd Street New York subway train with symbols of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan for advertising purposes in November. The posters were eventually removed.
