Richard Armitage, who plays Thorin Oakenshield in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit, will take on the role of a serial killer in the third season of NBC's Hannibal. This is reported on the official page of the series on Twitter.
Armitage will play the role of serial killer Fansis Dolarhyde, also known as the Tooth Fairy, familiar to fans of Thomas Harris's novel "Red Dragon". Dolarhyde's victims were usually members of the same family. Recall that in the 2002 feature movie "Red Dragon" Ralph Fiennes played the role of a serial killer.
Armitage is supposed to appear in the final six episodes of the third season.
