TV series People renewed for a third season
American Channel AMC and British Channel 4 have announced the renewal of the sci-fi series People for a third season. An eight-part sequel will be released in 2018. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The series, which takes place in a parallel reality, explores the question of what happens when the line between man and machine becomes subtle. The decision to renew the drama came a week after the end of the second season, which ended on a shocking note, on AMC. In the UK, the series was traditionally released earlier than – in October 2016 and ended in December of that year. In a statement, showrunners Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley said: “We are thrilled to think that the story continues! People's viewers will learn that the second season finale changed everything. We can't wait to breathe life into this new world – along with some of the best actors on television, our amazing partners with Kudos and two fantastic channels - Channel 4 and AMC. As a reminder, People are based on the Swedish TV series Real People, and the creator of the original show Lars Lundstrom is the executive producer of the Anglo-American remake.
