Marion Cotillard has signed on to star in the movie adaptation of Assassin ’ s Creed. The publication Deadline reports this with reference to its sources.

The role that was proposed to the French actress was not specified. Note that this will be the second joint project of Cotillard and the leading actor Michael Fassbender. They previously met on the set of Macbeth.

The movie will be a joint project between Ubisoft and New Regency Pictures, and 20th Century Fox will be responsible for distribution. Filming is expected to begin in the fall of 2015 with an eye on the premiere in December 2016. Justin Kurzel has been appointed as the director.

Earlier, the premiere of the movie "Assassin's Creed" was repeatedly postponed without explanation. The last revision of the rental schedule took place in September 2014. Then the premiere, scheduled for August 8, 2015, was canceled.
