Bates Motel star Freddie Highmore is looking for his next project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the performer of the role of Norman Bates in the television prequel to Hitchkov's "Psycho", got the lead role in the pilot of the ABC medical drama "The Good Doctor".

Based on the South Korean project, the drama tells about Sean Murphy, a young surgeon with Savant syndrome, assigned to the pediatric surgery department of a prestigious clinic. The question arises: can a person who does not know how to communicate with people save their lives?

Highmore will play Murphy, a young man with autism who behaves mostly strange and does not know how to build relationships with people, but direct and frank. Savant in Medicine, Sean went through a difficult childhood and became a talented doctor. Unable to express emotions, Sean, a brilliant and gifted surgeon, gets a place in San Jose at St. Bonaventure Hospital thanks to the patronage of his mentor and friend, Dr. Ira Glassman.

The script for "The Good Doctor" was written by the creator of "Dr. House "David Shore, who will share executive producer duties with Daniel Dae Kim, Sebastian Lee and Erin Gunn.
