Sela Ward to play President on Independence Day 2
Sela Ward, known to viewers from the TV series "House", as well as the movies "The Fugitive" and "Gone Girl", joined the cast of the movie "Independence Day 2." According to Deadline, the actress got the role of the President of the United States of America. Earlier it became known that the movie will also feature the role of President Thomas Whitmore from the first part, Bill Pullman. Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Jesse Asher, Charlotte Gainsbourg and other actors will also be involved in the project. The exact plot of the sequel to the famous science fiction movie was not known at the time of this writing. It is only obvious that earthlings will have to deal with a new wave of alien invaders. Initially, the creators of the first part, Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin, relied on the return of the hero Will Smith, but after much deliberation, the latter refused to participate in the sequel. As a result, Emmerich was forced to use a scenario that does not include this character. Filming for "Independence Day 2" will start in May 2015 with an eye on the premiere on June 24, 2016.
