The first book of the new Star Wars canon is presented
Lucasmovie and Del Rey Books unveiled the first piece to link Star Wars: Episode 6 - Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens. The novella Star Wars: Aftermath, which will give rise to a new Star Wars canon, will focus on the events immediately following the death of Emperor Palpatine. The description of its plot says the following: "The Second Death Star has been destroyed. Rumors have spread throughout the galaxy about the death of the Emperor and his closest aide Darth Vader. A new government is being formed to replace the Imperial power structures. But the galaxy is large and the cataclysm has affected its inhabited worlds in different ways. . The book, written by Chuck Wendig, will go on sale in September 2015. Earlier it became known that Lucasmovie will release a total of two dozen works aimed at the widest audience.
