Darth Vader Masks Banned From Star Wars 7 Shows

The largest theater chains in North America have introduced restrictions for fans of "Star Wars" who want to come to the sessions of the seventh episode in the costumes of their favorite characters. In particular, according to the Los Angeles CBS, fans are prohibited from hiding their faces under masks and bringing toy weapons into the halls.

So, on the posters of the Cinemark network, the ban "to hide faces with masks or abundant make-up" and the ban on "replicas of weapons from the movie, including lightsabers" are especially emphasized. The rules for attending screenings in AMC cinemas turned out to be slightly less strict. "Bring your lightsabers, but be sure to turn them off in the hall. Leave your Darth Vader masks and blasters at home," the company's official website says.

It is worth noting that American distributors are taking heightened precautions after several dramatic attacks by armed criminals on viewers during movie sessions. Recall that the loudest crime was committed in 2012, when 24-year-old James Holmes shot the audience of the movie "The Dark Knight 2: The Legend Rises" from automatic weapons. Then 12 people were killed and dozens were injured.

A similar crime was committed in the summer of 2015 in Louisiana. Two people died.
