20th Century Fox Withdraws from Major Comic-Con 2016 Events

20th Century Fox has refused to participate in major events that will be held at the famous Hall H as part of the San Diego Comic-con 2016 festival. This is reported by The Wrap. It is alleged that the management of the movie studio made such a decision due to fears that the exclusive materials that were supposed to be shown to the guests of the festival would be stolen by pirates.

At the same time, according to anonymous sources, representatives of 20th Century Fox will take part in less significant events, such as the presentation of the animation project "Trolls" jointly with DreamWorks. Note that in 2016 and 2017, 20th Century Fox should release several promising movies at once, including "Assassin's Creed" and "Wolverine 3". It was expected that it was at Comic-con 2016 that viewers would be able to see trailers or excerpts from these movies. Officials from the studio have so far declined to comment on this matter.

Recall that a year earlier, some Hollywood studios also ignored the Comic-Con festival, but for different reasons. In particular, Marvel Studios chose to take part in their own Walt Disney D23 Expo, which was held in August 2015. Whether Walt Disney divisions will present their projects at Comic-con 2016 is not specified.
