USA Network ordered the production of the telenovela "Queen of the South", based on the best-selling Spanish writer Arturo Perez-Reverte "La Reina Del Sur". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the drama will debut in 2016.

Drama directed by The Fox 21 Television Studios and Universal Cable Productions follows Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga). When Teresa's drug dealer is killed in Mexico, the girl is forced to flee to America. There, she teams up with the unpleasant guy she once knew to take revenge on the leader of the drug cartel, who forced her to flee and is responsible for the death of her lover.
