Warner Bros. Film Studio has once again revised the rental schedules of its promising movie projects. This time, the changes were made to the fantastic thriller MEG, in which Jason Statham is to play the main role.

According to The Wrap, instead of March 2, 2018, as previously planned, the movie will be presented to viewers on August 10, 2018. The reason for the postponement of the premiere was not specified. Recall that according to the plot, the main character collides with the legendary Megaladon, a giant prehistoric ancestor of modern sharks, who was considered extinct for a long time during a deep dive.

It is noteworthy that Warner Bros., initially announcing the date of the premiere on March 2, 2018, actually pitted "MEG" against another science fiction movie "Predator". It is possible that, having estimated the potential of the project, its creators nevertheless decided not to enter into direct competition with an alien hunter for the attention of viewers. Something similar happened at one time in another movie of the studio - "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice", which was first put up against "The First Avenger 3", and then its premiere was postponed to March.

In August 2018, MEG has no direct competitors at the box office.
