HBO intends to bring the graphic novel "The Keepers" to television screens. In a statement, which HBO announced on Thursday, October 1, 2015, it is said: "There have been preliminary negotiations regarding the Guardians, but at this point there is no further information, including the deal." This is reported by the Collider edition.

Zach Snyder, who directed the 2009 feature movie Watchmen, based on the popular graphic novel of the same name by Alan Moore, is interested in participating in the HBO project. The potential project is overseen by Warner Bros. Television.

Since no information is available, it is not yet clear whether HBO plans to movie a reboot, remake or prequel.

Watchmen limited edition comics consisting of twelve issues, was created by Alan Moore, Dave Gibbons and John Higgins. The comic, published from 1986 to 1987, is included in Time Magazine's Top 100 Best Novels.

In the 2009 movie adaptation of Snyder, Jackie Earl Haley, Malin Ackerman, Patrick Wilson, Billy Crudup, Matthew starred Goode, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Carla Gugino. A movie produced by Warner Bros. Pictures with a budget of $ 130 million earned 107.5 million at home, and worldwide – $ 185.3 million.
