Walt Disney has lost one of its executives
The American entertainment industry and market are in shock following the sudden resignation of Walt Disney executive Tom Staggs. According to The Wrap, his announcement of his resignation from the post of operational manager followed shortly after the board meeting. The official reason for the resignation has not been specified, but on the sidelines it is discussed that Staggs made the decision to leave the company after the board refused to guarantee him that he will lead Walt Disney in 2018, when the contract of the current CEO Bob Iger expires. Tom Staggs has been with the company for a total of two decades. Over the years, he led the finance department as well as the amusement parks division, and achieved impressive results in all of his positions. He will continue to serve as a consultant to Bob Iger until May 2016. Who will take his position at Walt Disney, at the time of this writing, it was not specified. After the announcement of the resignation, the value of Walt Disney shares on the stock exchange fell immediately by two percent. Many analysts attribute this to the fact that Staggs enjoyed great prestige on Wall Street and was viewed by investors as Iger's successor.
