The American Film Institute has postponed the ceremony for the presentation of the list of winners of its awards, scheduled for December 7, 2015. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the list of this year's winners will be announced on December 16. Officially, the reason for the revision of the schedule has not been explained, but, most likely, the organizers intend to allow their electors to watch the movie "Star Wars: Episode 7 - The Force Awakens", which will world premiere in Los Angeles on December 14, 2015. A gala reception in honor of the laureates of the award will take place, as previously planned, on January 8, 2016.

It should be noted that only American movies and television series are included in the list of laureates of the American Film Institute. Many of them later claim the main movie awards of the year - Golden Globe and Oscar. So, at the ceremony in December 2014, the movie "Birdman" was among the awardees, which was later awarded the main award of the American Film Academy.

Recall that the seventh episode of "Star Wars" will be released on December 17-18, 2015. The project is considered one of the main contenders for the most prestigious movie awards of the award season.
