Warner Bros. Film Studio quite seriously considered the popular martial artist and action hero Steven Seagal as one of the contenders for the role of Batman. Writer Sam Hamm told SyFy Wire about this.

It was about the 1989 movie Batman, directed by Tim Burton. “There were a lot of people in the studio management who thought that the role could be played by an action star. And we were offered Steven Seagal as well. Believe it or not, he came to the set, and everyone thought, 'Oh my God , this guy is really cool. "He may very well be Batman. But I don't think it all came down to the stage of movieing with all the lines and dialogues," he said.

It is common knowledge that the role eventually went to Michael Keaton, the choice of which caused a mixed reaction among fans of DC comics, since up to this point Keaton was known mainly as a participant in comedy projects.

The movie was a huge success. With a production budget of just $ 35 million, he grossed over $ 400 million at the box office. In May 2019, in North America, in honor of Batman's anniversary, this picture, as well as its sequel, were re-released to the big screens.
