Details of the largest esports event of 2018 in the CIS - EPICENTER XL in the "Dota 2" discipline, have become known. The final stage of the tournament will be held from April 27 to May 6, 2018 in Moscow. At EPICENTER XL, teams will compete for a prize pool of one million dollars. This is the largest prize pool in the history of single-discipline esports competitions organized in USA. EPICENTER XL in Moscow will be the first "Major" in the history of eSports tournaments held in USA. The competition will be hosted by Valve, and winning Dota 2 will earn teams qualifying points for a direct invite to The International 2018. The play-off stage of the competition in Moscow will be held at the VTB Ice Palace sports complex. From January 20, 2018, the stage of open and closed qualifying rounds for EPICENTER XL starts in the following regions: CIS, Europe, South America, North America, China, Southeast Asia. As a result of invitations and qualifications, 12 best teams in the world will get to Moscow, to the LAN-finals.
