The International Moscow Film Festival, which was supposed to take place from 22 to 29 April 2020, will not take place. This is stated in the official press release of the organizers. The statement on this matter notes that one of the reasons was "the order of the government of the USA Federation to restrict the entry of foreign citizens to USA until May 1, 2020."

New dates for the festival have not yet been specified and will be announced later. "We hope that the festival will take place in the very near future, when it will be absolutely safe for our numerous spectators, as well as foreign guests and participants," the announcement says.

Recall that the 41st Moscow Film Festival took place from 18 to 25 April 2019. 13 movies participated in the main competition program, of which three are of domestic production. The international jury was headed by the renowned South Korean director Kim Ki-Duk.

The main prizes of the movie festival are statuettes depicting St. George riding a silver horse, striking a dragon with a spear. Two awards for "Best Film in the Competition Program" and "For Contribution to World Cinema" are made of gilded silver. The laureates in seven nominations are awarded silver "St. George".
