New Zealand authorities have removed the crew of the series "The Lord of the Rings", as well as some other foreign button projects, beyond the current ban on visiting the country. Thus, as noted by the publication Collider, all work under the project can be resumed in the near future.

According to the order of the Ministry of Business and Innovation, more than two hundred members of movie crews and 35 members of their families will be entitled to enter territory of New Zealand. Also, the quota will be increased for the creators of the fantastic movie "Avatar 2", the resumption of movieing of which was allowed earlier.

Note that before the start of the coronavirus pandemic, preparations for the movieing of the series based on The Lord of the Rings were conducted in Auckland. The movieing of the show itself has not yet started. The project is financed by Amazon, which acquired the rights to the movie adaptation for an impressive $ 250 million. The production budget is estimated at one billion dollars.

The action is expected to take place in the so-called Second Age, that is, before the events that were shown to viewers in the full-length trilogy. The release date has not yet been announced, but most likely the first season will not be presented until 2022.
