Variable Prologues Introduced Into Cyberpunk 2077

In the new game from CD Project Red, not only will the endings be different, but also three opening cutscenes. Pavel Sosko, the lead designer of the game's quests, spoke about this for VG24 / 7

According to him, we will be given a choice of 3 so-called life paths. The player can be a Nomad, Former Corporate Employee, or Street Child. Each of the three paths defines the hero's biography and his starting location. The designer did not give more details because it may already reveal the details of the plot.

You can guess that one of the starting locations is the Badlands, (lifeless desert outside the city) where nomads live.

In addition to Cyberpunk 2077, Poles are working on several more franchise projects

CD Project Red recently held a press conference where they talked about plans for the franchise and new information about the game.

According to the president of the company, Adam Kichinsky, the company is satisfied with the sales of the game, and they exceed the performance of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt several times. However, too little time has passed to draw any conclusions, he adds.

The company also said that the circulation of collector's editions for the main markets has already been sold out, and it is not going to make new ones. This is due to the fact that collector's editions bring less profit.

The president of the company said that there are now five teams in the studio that are developing the following projects:

  • Cyberpunk 2077 itself
  • Another AAA Cyberpunk project due before 2021
  • The third Cyberpunk game, the multiplayer project for CBP 2077
  • Gwent
  • And a mobile game from Spokko studio, which recently became part of CD Project Red

Kichinsky notes that sales of the PC version of the game will be significantly lower than that of The Witcher. He backs up his argument by the fact that the Witcher series has been closely associated with the PC throughout its history. In addition, the console base has grown significantly since 2015.

In the end, we were reminded that we will see the gameplay of the demo version of the game at PAX West in Seattle at the end of August.

The Outer Worlds endings will be dramatically different

As Leonard Boyarsky told Video Games Chronicle, the game's finale is based on one particular plot fork.

According to him, at the end we will choose between a certain Phineas and the Council, and after that we will get a whole series of slides that will tell about the consequences of our choice, as well as decisions that we made throughout the game.

This sounds very similar to what we saw in Fallout New Vegas. There we were shown slides telling about the destinies of people and cities that we influenced. Similar, by the way, was in the first two Fallout.

Boyarsky clarified that there are several endings in the game, but they will be based precisely on the choice of one of the two sides.

New Skywind Trailer - Remake

Skyrim-powered Morrowind TES Renewal is the team that brings legacy TES games to the Skyrim engine to give them new life.

In the new Skywind trailer, you can see not only the updated beauties of Morrowind, but also some good news:

  • The game was successfully ported to the Skyrim Special Edition engine to improve the stability of the visual effects.
  • The creators of the remake have launched a new website. You can get to it by this link. This is where the updates will now be.
  • The team still needs collaborators. Especially in TES Renewal 3D artists are appreciated. You can sign up for their ranks here.

Skybivion Gameplay and Project Details

And next to the last news, we have information about the second TES Renewal project - Skybivion. A GameSpot employee interviewed one of the game's creators. He talked about some of the intricacies of porting Oblivion to the new engine.

On Skybivion, the team has grandiose plans, they are going to: transfer all the quests in the game to new rails, redesign cities, completely change the type of equipment, improve the animations of the heroes' faces. As a result, it will be even more rethinking of Oblivion than just playing on a new engine.

They pay attention and awards. For example, in the original game, heirlooms often appear as quest rewards, but they turn out to be mostly ordinary blades. Mods have redesigned them to truly be a special reward.

They also betray the uniqueness of natural landscapes, which in the original were too monotonous.

It is noteworthy that the game has original voice acting. However, the users themselves will transfer it so that the moderators do not come from Besezda's lawyers.

Team Leader Kyle Rebel says that he is not going to commercialize the project, as it will harm the spirit of the team. He explains it as follows: the team has three moderators on which to keep all the quests, if they leave - the project is over. And there is an enthusiast who himself recreated half of the landscapes in the game. Who should pay first and how much?

Of the minuses, Kyle will have a negative attitude towards the Skybivion team. Some people think they don't specifically publish mod builds. However, the reason is different. Bethesda said they cannot release Skybivion while other people's assets are there. And now they are still in fashion. The publication of the existing material would violate the contract with Besezda.

The next Sony console takes a benchmark in hardcore, grafon and blockbusters

A journalist with The Wall Street Journal asked Sonya for some details about their next generation of consoles. The new console will focus on cool graphics, hardcore gamers and blockbusters.

CEO Kenichiro Yoshida even called the PlayStation a more niche project for serious gamers. The company is committed to working for audiences who buy, for example, RDR or Fallout.

He also named Microsoft as the main competitor. Sony is ramping up the specs of its console to release more blockbusters with disruptive graphics in the future, and will have less support for indies as it believes their console is being bought for AAA projects. However, Sony is not going to give up indie completely.

Yoshida describes the new console as: “Capable of dramatically increasing the speed at which graphics are drawn.”

These were all the important news from the beginning of the week, stay tuned.
