Xiaomi unveils the third generation of Black Shark gaming smartphones (Topic)

Xiaomi made a presentation of the new products of the third generation of the Black Shark family. It includes the Xiaomi smartphone of the main modification Black Shark 3, as well as its older modification Black Shark 3 Pro, which differs in size and battery capacity. In terms of their characteristics, they can be compared with the flagship models of 2020.

Filling

The gaming smartphone presented by the Xiaomi brand and its older Pro version are based on the most powerful Snapdragon processor at the moment. Manufactured using 7nm technology, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip has 8 cores, divided into three clusters. In addition, the processor is complemented by integrated Adreno 650 graphics and an X55 modem, which supports modern 5G networks.

Smartphones of the third Black Shark family have received a fresh RAM module dating from 2020. The main memory is represented by a high-speed UFS 3.0 module. The liquid cooling system prevents overheating of the gaming gadget. According to the manufacturer, it has become more efficient than the previous solution, which was equipped with the Black Shark 2 family.

The design of both versions of the smartphone made it possible to build two batteries into them. Basically Black Shark 3, their total capacity reaches 4720 mAh, in the older Pro version - 5000 mAh. In addition, both gadgets support wireless (up to 18W) and 65W fast charging technology.

The operating system is Android 10, supplemented by the proprietary JoyUI firmware based on MIUI 11.

Screen and cameras

Both Black Shark models have screens with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. Also, the displays are complemented by DC Dimming technology, which helps to reduce flicker at low brightness. The Xiaomi gaming smartphone is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + support. The older Black Shark 3 Pro has a larger display: its diagonal is 7.1 inches, and the supported resolution is increased to the Quad HD + standard.

The cameras of both smartphones are identical. The selfie lens is located in the display frame at the top. It produces 20 MP photos of improved quality (thanks to artificial intelligence technology) and Full HD-videos at 30 fps. The main camera is represented by three modules. The main one supports a resolution of 64 MP. It is complemented by a 5MP portrait camera and a 13MP wide-angle sensor. The main camera records video at 60 fps in Full HD mode.

Additional Features

The announced gaming smartphones are equipped with an on-screen fingerprint sensor and a standard 3.5mm audio jack. Their arsenal includes stereo speakers with SmartPA amplifier and support for high-resolution Hi-Res Audio files. Game buttons are located on the sides of the gadgets. In addition to these, the older Black Shark 3 Pro also has two more slide-out switches, similar to those found in modern gamepads. They are located on the right side of the case and in the event of a fall, the device will automatically hide inside.

Cost

The basic Xiaomi Black smartphone is presented in three versions depending on the amount of memory: 8/128, 12/128 and 12/256 GB. The cost of a simple assembly is estimated at $ 500 , for the older modification - $ 573.

Senior Black Shark 3 Pro has two configurations: 8/256 and 12/256 GB. Their recommended prices are $ 673 and $ 716 respectively.
