Ralph Fiennes is ready to conquer the world of ballet
Actor Ralph Fiennes has already tried his hand at directing a couple of times, and now the two-time Oscar nominee is gearing up to lead another film. The idea to make a film about the life of Soviet dancer Rudolf Nureyev arose a couple of years ago, but only now Fiennes found time to bring his plans to life.Dubbed The White Crow ( White Crow *), it will be based on Julie Kavanagh's book Rudolf Nureyev: The Life ( "Rudolf Nureyev: Life" ). The biographical drama is written by David Hae (The Reader) and financed by BBC Films . At the moment, most of the main cast of the biopic has been selected. Thus, USA dancer Oleg Ivenko will play Rudolf Nureyev himself, and Adele Exarcopoulos ("Adele's Life") will play the role of the Frenchwoman Clara Saint , who helped Nuriyev after he refused to return to the USSR from a tour in 1961 and became a "defector". From 1983 to 1989, Nuriev was even director of the ballet troupe of the Parisian Grand Opera .  The film will also feature Sergei Polunin (Dancer) and Chulpan Khamatova (Country of the Deaf). Fiennes himself describes the biopic of Nureyev as a story about fortitude, homeland, worldview and friendship.
