Jamie Foxx is 50!

Thus began his career in stand-up. It was then that Eric Marlon Bishop turned into Jamie Foxx. Upon learning that female comedians were invited to perform first, he decided to take a creative pseudonym, and Fox borrowed the name from the famous comedian Redd Fox.“I liked my old name,- says the actor. "But Eric Bishop was Clark Kent and Jamie Foxx is Superman."  After leaving school, Jamie Foxx moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a comedian. In 1991, the actor appeared in the TV series In Vivid Colors, where he embodied several images on the screen at once. Success in this project opened up great opportunities for the talented beginner not only in television, but also in film and music. In 1994, Fox released his debut album, and two years later received his own television show, The Jamie Foxx Show, which ran for five seasons. Having successfully realized himself in comedic terms, in 1999 Jamie Foxx finally had a chance to prove himself as a dramatic actor. He played in Oliver Stone's Every Sunday, where he was invited due to his footballing background. Having played the role of a sports star in the picture, Fox showed incredible acting range and did not get lost in the background of his eminent colleague Al Pacino. This picture paved the way for Jamie Foxx in big cinema, and after a few years he became one of the most notable actors in Hollywood.  Real fame came to Fox in 2004, when he attracted the attention of critics and audiences at once with two powerful works. In the crime drama “Accomplice,” Jamie played the role of a taxi driver who was taken hostage by a hired killer, and in the biopic of the legendary Ray Charles Fox, he not only skillfully conveyed plasticity and facial expressions, but also the fervor, determination and recklessness of a blind singer. For his work in these films, the actor was nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe. But if the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2005 went to Morgan Freeman for Million Dollar Baby, then the coveted statuette for the lead role in Ray went to Fox. He became the second male after Al Pacino and the first African American to be twice nominated for an Oscar in one year. The incredible transformation of an actor into a famous musician was also noted at the Golden Globe Awards.  After that, trying himself in completely different genres, Fox played in the action movie Miami Police: The Department of Morals, the musical Dream Girls, the thrillers The Kingdom and Law Abiding Citizen, the romantic melodrama Valentine's Day, two parts of a crazy comedy "Obnoxious bosses", and also gave his voice to one of the heroes of the animated film "Rio". In 2009, the actor brilliantly portrayed a former virtuoso musician forced to play the cello on the streets of Los Angeles in the drama The Soloist, based on the real life story of Nathaniel Ayers. And in 2012, he played the main role of a fugitive slave in Quentin Tarantino's spaghetti western "Django Unchained" with Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio. The film was highly acclaimed by film critics, and was also awarded several Oscars and Golden Globes. The President of the United States in "Storming the White House", the opponent of Spider-Man in "High Voltage", a successful businessman in the musical film "Annie", a nutty robber in "Baby Drive" - everywhere Jamie Foxx manages to be different, create multi-layered images, showing that he can not only make the viewer laugh, but also touch, scare or disgust.
