Blade Runner 2049 is out on October 5th. The sequel is set 30 years after the original story, in 2049. To fill in the time gaps and connect the lines of the two films, the director of the second part of Blade Runner Denis Villeneuve invited his colleagues to shoot three short films. The events of the first presented mini-film take place in 2036 and tell about the reasons for the return of the replicants.|
The main character is Niander Wallace, the character of Jared Leto. Trying to prove to the magistrate the need to resume production of androids on the Nexus 9 model, despite the law, he brings one of them with him to demonstrate.

Dubbed Prequel Short
The prequel "2036: Nexus Rises" was directed by Luke Scott, son of Ridley Scott, the original director. Together with Jared Leto, Benedict Wong, known for "Doctor Strange" and the TV series "Marco Polo", was spotted in the short film. Luke also directed the prologue to Alien: Covenant and the second short in the series, 2048: Nowhere to Run.
