Casting: Spy Passions and War with a Neighbor
As the site The Hollywood Reporter found out, Guy Pearce has joined the cast of the movie The Catcher Was a Spy . The lead role in the film, based on the biographical book of Nicholas Davidoff, was previously given to Paul Rudd, and Ben Levin ("Surrogate") will lead the shooting.Adapted from the original by Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan). The film tells the story of Mo Berg ( Rudd ), a college educated man who spoke nine languages and played in the baseball league for 15 years. However, even his teammates had no idea that the sport was just a cover, and in fact Moe was a high-profile spy working for the CIA . During World War II, he traveled on missions to the Caribbean, South America and Europe.What role went to Pierce is not yet reported. Frank Langella ("Frost vs. Nixon") got the lead role in the tape Lapham Rising , based on the novel by the famous journalist and commentator Roger Rosenblatt. The author himself wrote the script for the future film, and the director's chair of the project is assigned to Charlie Kessler. The main character of the picture is the writer Henry March , who lives in retirement a quiet and measured life together with the talking dog Hector , in whose body an ardent capitalist was reborn. Their neighbor - a boastful millionaire who made his fortune on asparagus tongs - begins building a giant mansion. Hector sees this as a symbol of progress, while for Henry such mansions signify what destroyed modern civilization. And this means only one thing - to be at war with a neighbor ...
