Did the Bond authors replace Craig?

Image Spoiler alert! It has long been known that Bond 25 will be Daniel Craig's last film as the famed MI6 operative. Over the past couple of years, the world's leading bookmakers have been taking bets on who will be the next 007 agent. Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, James Norton, Idris Elba, Richard Madden, Tom Hiddleston and many other talented actors are taking part in the race for the high-profile film role. British tabloids began to claim that Craig would pass the baton right in the midst of Bond 25.

We reported this spring that viewers will meet Bond after he leaves the service and moves to Jamaica. Naturally, James will never be able to enjoy the quiet and peaceful life on the island paradise. A couple of minutes after the start of the film, he will have to leave the cozy bungalow to help old friends.

Now there are rumors on the web about the further development of the plot. Shortly after returning to service, Bond allegedly discovers that the call sign "Agent 007" has passed to a talented MI6 employee played by Lashana Lynch ("Captain Marvel").

Lynch's unexpected plot twist does not mean that she will lead the cast of Bond 26. It is possible that a complete reboot awaits the franchise ahead, and the nickname "007" will quickly return to the man. One way or another, the authors of James Bond are ready to prove that they are not afraid of a possible change in the sex and race of the title character.

It should be noted that the official representatives of the studio Eon Production have so far refrained from commenting. The USA premiere of Bond 25 will take place on April 9, 2020.
